Symptoms

Until recently, it was believed that ovarian cancer is a silent tumor until fairly advanced stages. However, due to ovarian cancer symptoms being vague, the cancer is now considered “whispering” because its symptoms are attributed to less serious diseases such as reflux, indigestion, or the natural weight changes associated with advancing age.

If one or more of the following symptoms persist over a period of time, you should contact your doctor, especially if you are post-menopausal:

  • Reflux or indigestion
  • Abdominal pain and cramping
  • Bloating
  • Feeling of fullness
  • Loss of appetite
  • Weakness or fatigue
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Feeling of pelvic pressure
  • Post-menopausal bleeding
