Secondary Treatment

Studies have shown that women diagnosed with hormone receptor-positive breast cancer may benefit from hormone receptor-positive breast cancer secondary treatment, including procedures such as a hysterectomy or oopherectomy. The aim of secondary treatment is to control and slow down the spread of the cancer, relieve symptoms and give you the best quality of life for as long as possible.

Dr. Ivy performs such procedures laparoscopically, which can lead to faster healing, a far less incidence of side effects, less time in the hospital and a quicker return to normal activity. Using the da Vinci® surgical system, an advanced robotic minimally invasive surgical procedure, Dr. Ivy can perform certain advanced functions that current laparoscopic techniques cannot.
